Testimony – A Bible App’s On-Time Notification

And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written, The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,” (Luke 4:17,18)

I have four Bible apps on my phone and one of them is set to give me a daily Bible verse at 6:30 AM.

Well, 30 minutes before our Wednesday NIGHT prayer meeting, 6:30 PM, I received the verse. I just had my phone replaced and activated it on Tuesday, so I checked the settings and confirmed that the verses were set to be given at 6:30 AM. I couldn’t figure out why I received it so late.

Prayer meeting went well. Everyone shared their testimonies and we prayed for the prayer requests, but the elder officiating over the meeting did not arrive and we were 30 minutes into the meeting. Then I understood why my daily Bible verse came up so late. I was being notified by the Lord that I was to give tonight’s devotional thought for the meeting.

So I shared my testimony about my Bible app’s issue and used it to give the message for the evening. As I did, the Lord brought verse after verse and memory after memory to my mind and it was a blessing to the group. Praise the Lord!

Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.” (Psalms 1:1-2)
